Booking with AI assistants

Guests ask AI assistants more and more to find and book a table for them. When online reservations are enabled, an assistant can book at your restaurant through 20Tabs. You do not have to set this up.

How it works

1. The assistant finds the booking widget on your website, and from there the 20Tabs booking service.
2. The assistant looks for an open time, with the same rules as the widget: booking windows, party size, duration and closures.
3. The guest gets an email in your restaurant’s name and confirms the reservation with one click.
4. Only then does the reservation come in, just like an online reservation from the widget: confirmed or requested, with a deposit if you ask for one.

If the guest does not confirm within 1 hour, the link expires and nothing is booked.

What you see

• The reservation shows the source AI agent in the calendar
• The guest receives the normal confirmation and reminder emails
• If a guest replies to the verification email, the reply goes to your restaurant’s email address

Who runs this service. 20Tabs runs the booking service for every restaurant that uses 20Tabs reservations. Each restaurant has its own address: https://<restaurant>.20tabs.app.

How to check a restaurant. The booking widget on the restaurant’s own website loads from its 20Tabs address, for example <script src="https://<restaurant>.20tabs.app/online/reservations/widget.js">. The restaurant placed this script on its site. Book only with the host that this script loads from.
