Surcharges

A surcharge is an extra amount that’s added to a product automatically. Common examples are the mandatory levy on single-use plastic cups and containers for takeaway, or a glass deposit.

Setting up a surcharge

  1. Open the back office and click Surcharges
  2. Fill in the fields and tick Active to switch the surcharge on
  3. Head to Back office → Products
  4. Open the product you want the surcharge applied to
  5. On the product page, find Surcharges, pick the one you just created and hit the green plus
  6. From now on it’ll be added to every sale of that product, automatically

Turning a surcharge off

If the rules change and a surcharge no longer applies:

  1. Go to Back office → Surcharges
  2. Click the surcharge in question
  3. Untick Active

It’ll stop applying to every linked product at once, so there’s no need to edit them one by one.
