Surcharges
A surcharge is an extra amount that’s added to a product automatically. Common examples are the mandatory levy on single-use plastic cups and containers for takeaway, or a glass deposit.
Setting up a surcharge
- Open the back office and click Surcharges
- Fill in the fields and tick Active to switch the surcharge on
- Head to Back office → Products
- Open the product you want the surcharge applied to
- On the product page, find Surcharges, pick the one you just created and hit the green plus
- From now on it’ll be added to every sale of that product, automatically
Turning a surcharge off
If the rules change and a surcharge no longer applies:
- Go to Back office → Surcharges
- Click the surcharge in question
- Untick Active
It’ll stop applying to every linked product at once, so there’s no need to edit them one by one.
