20Tabs as a mobile POS on iPhone or iPad

With 20Tabs, an iPhone or iPad becomes a full mobile POS. With a payment partner like Pay, an iPhone can even double as a card terminal, with no extra hardware needed.

Linking the app to your account

1. Grab the 20Tabs app from the App Store
2. You’ll need a pairing code to connect the app. It’s in your welcome email, or in the back office under Settings.
3. Log in with your username and password

Setting up the right device

In 20Tabs, each physical unit is a “device”. If you want to use both an iPhone and an iPad, set up a separate device for each. See Managing and using devices.

The button layout

The button layout is the screen you’ll be tapping all day, so it’s worth getting right. It’s where you decide which products and shortcuts appear and how they’re grouped. You can build different layouts for different devices.

Accepting card payments with Tap to Pay

1. Connect Pay to your account through the App Store in the back office
2. Install the PAY.POS app on your iPhone
3. That’s it. Your iPhone is now ready to take card payments.
4. Set Tap to Pay as your default payment method so it’s one tap away

Taking a payment end to end

1. Tap the plus button to start a new order
2. Add the items the guest wants
3. Tap Pay
4. Choose Tap to Pay for contactless
5. The guest holds their card, phone or watch to the back of your iPhone
6. The bill closes automatically the moment the payment clears
