We are 20Tabs, a point-of-sale system for the hospitality industry. We keep this page short and clear so you know exactly how we handle your data.

In short: we only collect what we need to provide you with a well-functioning POS system, we do not sell your data, and you can always ask what we have about you or have it deleted.

When does this apply?

Whenever you use www.20tabs.nl or any of our app environments (*.20tabs.app), via laptop, phone or tablet. We comply with the GDPR and the Dutch Telecommunications Act.

What data do we collect?

What you give us:

  • Your name, email address and password when you create an account
  • Profile information you fill in yourself
  • Any messages you send us (and our replies)
  • Payment details when you become a customer

What you share automatically:

  • Your IP address, browser type, app version and operating system
  • Which pages you visit
  • Date and time of your visit

We use this data solely to keep the service secure and to diagnose technical issues.

Why do we need that data?

  • To make your account work
  • To help you when something goes wrong
  • To improve the service
  • To keep the service and your data secure

We do not use your data for ad networks, profiling purposes or selling to third parties.

On what basis do we do this?

The GDPR recognises several legal bases we rely on:

  • Performance of a contract: if you are a customer, we need your data to deliver our service
  • Legitimate interest: for example, to keep our servers secure
  • Legal obligation: for legally required processing, such as financial record-keeping obligations
  • Consent: for anything beyond that, we will ask you explicitly

Do we share your data with others?

No. Not with advertisers, not with data brokers, not with your competitors.

Two exceptions:

  1. When the law requires it (for example, a court order)
  2. If 20Tabs is ever acquired or merged, your data may be part of the transfer. The new owner must comply with the same commitments as we do now.

Is data stored outside the EU?

No. All your data is currently stored on servers within the EU.

Should that change in the future, we will put the proper legal safeguards in place (such as standard contractual clauses) and update this page.

How long do we keep your data?

No longer than necessary. For some data (such as invoices) we have a legal retention obligation; other data is removed as soon as it is no longer needed.

Not satisfied with how we handled your request? You can file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl).

How do we secure your data?

We have implemented appropriate technical and organisational measures, including encrypted connections, access controls and regular security reviews.

No system offers absolute guarantees, but we take security seriously and keep our measures up to date. We also ask that you use a strong password and keep your login credentials private.

Our site sometimes contains links to other services. Once you click on those, their rules apply, not ours. Please consult their privacy policies for more information.

Children

Our service is intended for hospitality entrepreneurs, not for children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If this has happened, please contact us so we can remove it.

Changes

We occasionally update this policy, for example due to new legislation or new services. Changes appear on this page. For significant changes, we will notify active users in advance.
